The Masked Singer Season 5 is finally over, and man, what a season. Between all the wild reveals, Cluedle-Doo's ridiculousness, and awesome guest panelists, it was a great season, and the finale really sent things over the top in the best way. Without a doubt, this was the greatest finale the series has done since its beginning, for more reasons than one.

Of course, there's always the consideration about who won. Have no fear, we have who won it all between Chameleon, Black Swan, and Piglet, as well as all the amazing things about the Season 5 finale.

Piglet Won Season 5 Of The Masked Singer

Piglet ended up ruling the night in the end, and as many have already guessed, was none other than former 98 Degrees frontman Nick Lachey. Lachey was understandably thrilled that he won the latest season of The Masked Singer, and few can deny he earned it even though the competition this season was as fierce as ever.

Nick Lachey beat out second-place finisher Black Swan, who was unmasked and revealed to be singer Jojo Levesque. This means Chameleon came in third, who was unmasked and revealed to be rapper Wiz Khalifa. As usual, the internet had every competitor pegged before the finale, so it's a good thing the show had a little more for audiences beyond the identities of the contestants to make this finale the best so far.

LeAnn Rhimes on The Masked Singer Fox

Why The Masked Singer's Season 5 Finale Was The Best Yet

The finale got off to an amazing start with a performance from Season 4's winner and award-winning artist, LeAnn Rhimes. Rhimes performed her hit song "How Do I Live" and was accompanied by all three finalists in the performance. In the biggest shock of the night, Wiz Khalifa actually sang a few lines of the song and did an awesome job. I ragged on him all season for rapping his way to the finals, and my criticism went out the window when he finally sang.

I've touched on the sense that The Masked Singer Season 5 has felt bigger all around than past seasons, and that was true yet again in the finale. The Golden Ear was, once again, another great award to look forward to, and I loved that each competitor got an appropriate amount of time in the spotlight before their sendoff. I complained the week prior that Cluedle Doo's reveal should've happened in the finale but now that I've seen it, I can see why it needed to be bumped to earlier.

Overall, The Masked Singer really outdid itself with Season 5. I'm not sure if this is the peak of the Fox series, but I think it'll be a challenge to further improve it after this season. If they could find a better way to do Cluedle-Doo or some variant of the character next season, I think this show will be the best it has ever been yet again.

The Masked Singer is done for Season 5, but I'm assuming we'll see Season 6 arrive (unless some crazy cancellation happens) in the fall. Those unsure of what to watch next should definitely reference our summer premiere guide, which is loaded with new shows arriving every day in the coming months.
