Loki Reactions Are In, Here’s What People Are Saying About Tom Hiddleston's Disney+ Series

Tom Hiddleston in Loki

Everyone’s favorite God of Mischief is back! Loki will finally arrive on Disney+ this Wednesday, June 9, and fans are hyped (myself included). Tom Hiddleston of course reprises his role as the titular character in the TV series, with Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku also starring. In case you need a refresher, Loki stole the Tesseract and created a new timeline during Avengers: Endgame (specifically, in 2012). In this new TV series from Marvel, the alternate version of Loki is brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA) and has to face being erased from existence due to being a "time variant" or help fix the timeline and stop a greater threat.

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for this show. Some critics have already seen the first two episodes of Loki and are sharing their thoughts on social media, so let’s take a look.

Our very own Eric Eisenberg was one of those lucky critics who got to see the first two episodes, and it's safe to say that he really enjoyed it! He applauded the "off the charts weirdness" and highly praised Hiddleston's charismatic performance. Here's what Eisenberg had to say:

Collider's Perri Nemiroff also had a very positive first reaction to Loki. She was fascinated by the Time Variance Authority and specifically loved how the story developed our favorite trickster's character. She said:

These early reactions are looking pretty positive so far! Brandon Davis from ComicBook.com had several things to say about the TV show, calling the pairing of Hiddleston and Wilson "glorious." He called Hiddleston charming and brilliant, and was pleasantly surprised with Wilson's "delightful" entrance into the MCU as Mobius. Davis said:

Jenna Busch of Vital Thrills also complimented the pairing of Hiddleston and Wilson, while also pointing out that the biggest hook of Loki is watching the god of mischief's character development. She can't wait to see more, and said:

Germain Lussier from io9 echoed the rest of the reactions we've seen, calling the Disney+ series "catnip for Marvel fans." He complimented Hiddleston's performance and enjoyed the callbacks to previous MCU installments. He also praised Loki for how it expands on the Marvel world that we already know. Though he wished there had been a little more action (granted, these critics only saw the first two episodes, so plenty of time for more action later!), he fell hard for this show, saying:

Wow. (I hope you read that in Owen Wilson's voice.) Critics seem to be loving Loki so far, and we'll soon be able to form our own opinions, as the show releases on Disney+ this Wednesday, June 9.

In the meantime, check out what else is dropping on Disney+ this month.
