Supernatural's Jared Padalecki Asks Twitter To Calm Down After Viral Tweets To Jensen Ackles About Prequel Spinoff

Jared Padalecki

It hasn’t been long since The CW’s long-running series Supernatural ended its 15 season-run, leaving an emotional Jesen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. The loss of the show has seemingly left a hole in the hearts of fans and stars alike, which Ackles is now filling with a new prequel spin-off called The Winchesters, which he will be narrating and producing with his wife, Danneel Harris. While this is great news for people who love the series, Padalecki was seemingly left out of the loop. But after some seriously gut-wrenching tweets where he called out those who failed to inform him of the spin-off, he has asked fans to calm down just a bit.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have since talked it out and made up, but prior to getting a full rundown and understanding about what was going on in the world of Supernatural, Padalecki seemed pretty hurt about being blindsided about the spin-off. Fans, of course, seemingly felt similar feelings. However, they may have felt them too much, as Padalecki took to Twitter and followed his tweets up with a request for fans to keep it civil. Here’s the Supernatural star’s plea to fans:

It’s true that fans were pretty up in arms and upset that Jared Padalecki would get left out of something Supernatural related, especially since the Supernatural gang is notoriously close with one another; Padalecki and Jensen Ackles even lived together in their younger years. Having worked together for 15 years, the two have a great relationship both on and off screen, and Padalecki has openly expressed his love for the franchise and the fact that he would love to play his character again.

The anger of Jared Padalecki being pretty much the last one to know about Winchesters may make total sense, but threats are definitely not cool. While this is something that could have potentially threatened to tear the fandom apart, Padalecki’s quick calming tweet could definitely help to smooth out tensions within the fandom.

The comments on Jared Padalecki’s pleading tweet have a pretty wide range of emotions. Some fans feel bad that Padalecki even has to ask people not to send threats and some are still sending their love to everyone involved, saying all families see their hardships but still remain family. Other fans seem to blame Jared Padalecki himself, saying he should not have broadcasted his feelings and should have, instead, kept them in private messages.

Fans may feel emotionally invested in the stars’ relationships with one another, especially now that Supernatural has ended and the future of those relationships may feel more delicate since the two actors don't work closely together anymore. However, it’s important to remember this situation goes beyond the fandom, as these are real people who are still living their lives. It’s awesome to see Jared Padalecki backing up the people he cares about in the midst of such a situation.

Winchesters is still in the early stages, and CinemaBlend will keep you up to date on any future developments!
