HBO Not Bored, Renews Bored To Death For Second Season

HBO’s Bored to Death has been pretty uneven so far, but apparently the network is pleased with the private-eye comedy’s performance, because they just picked it up for a second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this comes on the heels of a ratings high this past week, when the show saw a 51% viewership jump. Some of that is almost certainly due to it following the much-hyped “Seinfeld reunion” episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Created by Jonathan Ames, Bored to Death follows an alcoholic, pot-smoking writer (Jason Schwartzman) who, after a painful breakup, starts taking cases as an unlicensed private investigator. Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis also star as writer Jonathan’s editor and best friend, respectively. Bored to Death airs Sunday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
