USA Orders More Pysch

While Monk is about to close out its final season, there’s good news for fans of the USA series Psych. The network has opted to pick the series up for a fifth season.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, USA has renewed the crime comedy series for a fifth season, giving the show a 16 episode order.

Psych follows Shawn and his friend Gus as they consult with the police to solve crimes. While Shawn pretends he’s a psychic, in truth, he’s just really good at observing situations and has a tendency to see things other people miss when exploring a crime scene. The series bounces between the mystery of the week and the relationships Shawn has with his best friend and partner in crime-solving Gus, his father/mentor and the police he works with.

"Psych just keeps getting better and better," said USA president of original programming Jeff Wachtel. "Steve, James, Dule and the entire team keep us laughing and keep the audience coming back for more."

The fourth season of Psych is set to continue with new episodes on USA starting January 2010.
