TV Guide Network To Promote Weeds Awareness With A Marathon

According to the TV Guide Network, some 80 million American adults have never seen Showtime’s Weeds. Many of those people don’t even know the show exists. I know. I was shocked by these figures also but I’m happy to report that this epidemic is being remedied somewhat by the network as they have declared next week “National Weeds Awareness Week.”

National Weeds Awareness Week will kick off on Sunday, October 17th and run for six days during which the TV Guide Network will air Weeds episodes from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. ET/PT. The network won’t end their efforts to promote Weeds awareness once the week is up. They will be airing four back-to-back episodes of the show every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT starting October 24th.

You may be thinking, “Weeds aren’t my thing. I pluck them up from the garden and toss them away. Why would I want to tune in to the TV Guide Network to watch a show about them?” I assure you, the series is not about those kinds of weeds. Weeds normally airs on Showtime and follows a suburban widow/single-mom who finds herself drifting further and further into the dark and dangerous world of drug dealing. It’s much more interesting than watching grass grow and Mary-Louise Parker’s pretty fantastic in it.

So, whether you haven’t gotten around to watching the show, you don’t have Showtime, or you have nothing better to do on your evenings next week, I definitely recommend checking it out.
