USA's 2011 Summer Premiere Schedule

As some of USA’s best original programming airs during the summer, it’s likely that there are plenty of people waiting to know when shows like Burn Notice and White Collar will return. Well, wait no further. USA’s 2011 Summer schedule is up and we have it here. It includes news series Suits and Necessary Roughness, both of which sound like winners.

While White Collar, Covert Affairs, Burn Notice and Royal Pains are set to return, USA is also debuting two new original series. Suits stars Gabriel Macht, playing a corporate lawyer who recruits Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a college drop-out with the “book-smarts of a Harvard graduate,” (but no actual law degree) and “the street smarts of a hustler.” Thinking of USA’s other shows, filled with brainy, often cocky (but still likable) characters, Suits sounds like it’ll fit right in.

Necessary Roughness stars Rescue Me’s Callie Thorne (I’m sold already), who plays a divorced single mom on Long Island who takes a job as a therapist for a pro football team. “Underestimated at every turn, she succeeds beyond all expectations and soon finds herself as the sought-after therapist to high-profile clients. Athletes, musicians, politicians and others living in the spotlight - all in a moment of crisis – clamor for her unique brand of tough love therapy.”

Loving the sound of Necessary Roughness. Judging by her performance on Rescue Me (and we can throw in her recent appearance on Californication), Thorne’s proven to know how to find a likable way to combine sexy, tough, emotionally messy and maternal. This role sounds perfect for her and Necessary Roughness sounds great for USA.
