The final season of HBO's Entourage kicks off in a few weeks and, always the show to jump on a hot cameo, they apparently sent out a request to the latest scandal headliner... Yes, Vincent Chase and the boys were hoping to see, the now former, Congressman Anthony Weiner show up for an episode in the show's eighth year. Did the Weiner famous for his wiener, accept the invitation?

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Entourage creator Doug Ellin and when they asked about, "what response he has gotten from Weiner, Ellin just says, 'Nothing.'" They sent out the cameo request before the Congressman resigned so maybe now that he's got some extra time on his hands he might reconsider (or at least make an appearance in the apparent movie to follow and wrap up the series).

Entourage has steadily slipped ever since it hit TV screens eight years ago with one of the strongest comedy pilots I've ever seen. Over the years the show has ditched the funny for (soap opera-ish) drama and lost the sense of fun and wonder that made the inside look at celebrity life so enjoyable. The cameos are really the only thing keeping it interesting and providing the laughs (Matt Damon and James Woods being two of my favorites) so I can see the desire to land someone of Weiner's profile. The show's back on HBO on July 24, 2011.
