Army Wives And Shameless Hit Ratings Highs: Did You Watch?

There’s good ratings news for two very different Sunday night dramas. Showtime’s Shameless and Lifetime’s Army Wives both showed an increase in viewers.

According to Deadline, Shameless brought in 1.16 million viewers for its season finale episode, which delivered some Gallagher-style drama, complete with someone getting peed on and a very awkward bathroom apology. Meanwhile, Army Wives’ heavily promoted episode brought in 4.8 million viewers, which is a series high for the show.

The bump in numbers is certainly good news for both shows. It’s understandable that fans who caught last week’s episode of Shameless felt compelled to tune in last night to see how things went down for Frank after his son’s girlfriend took advantage of his drug-induced state to exact her own naughty revenge against her judgmental father. Meanwhile, Lifetime has been dangling a big character death in the faces of fans of the show (and people like me who are easily sucked into Lifetime’s movie marathons on the weekends). I’m not caught up on the last couple of seasons of Army Wives, however in my experience, the drama series knows how trigger the water works. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were plenty of teared-up eyes (as many as 9.6 million) during last night’s episode.

Were you among the viewers of either show?
