Chloe Sevigny Joins A&E Crime Drama Pilot Those Who Kill

A&E’s new crime drama pilot has cast one of the lead roles. Big Love’s Chloe Sevigny has signed on to play the role of a Boston homicide detective for the pilot Those Who Kill, which is based on the Danish format. This is the first casting news we’ve seen for the pilot, and it’s definitely a good start.

Sevigny will play Catherine Jenson, says Deadline, a smart, determined, and fearless new addition to the Homicide Division at the Boston Police Department. Those Who Kill is based originally on a series of Danish books by Elsebeth Egholm, and was successfully adapted to Danish television. It focuses on a forensic profiler and a police detective who use their deep understanding of the minds of killers to catch them. Although it’s not made entirely clear, my guess is that Sevigny’s role is that of the main detective listed in the description.

The actress made a name for herself when she picked up an Oscar nomination for the movie Boys Don’t Cry and has since been doing well in her television career. She won a Golden Globe for Big Love and is recurring on the current season of American Horror Story: Asylum. She’s also set to appear in the new season of Portlandia on IFC.

Those Who Kill is one of two new killer-themed projects in the works at A&E right now. They went straight to series with the other one, Bates Motel, which is a Psycho prequel. It seems that Those Who Kill is still very much on the radar however, and I’m betting we’ll hear more casting news on this one soon.
