Covert Affairs' Piper Perabo To Guest Star On Go On

Covert Affairs star Piper Perabo is checking in for a little group therapy. The actress has signed on for a 3-episode arc on NBC’s new comedy, Go On, where she’ll be getting close to star Matthew Perry as a former support group member who returns after an absence.

Deadline says Perabo will play Simone, who will develop a relationship with sportscaster Ryan King (Perry) when they meet at the support group King attends to help him deal with the death of his wife. Perabo rose to stardom with the dancing bartender film Coyote Ugly and has been starring on Covert Affairs since the show began airing in 2010, and since that show recently earned a fourth season renewal from USA, fans will be seeing more of her. She also recently appeared in the film Looper and has another movie, Red Machine, with Billy Bob Thornton on the way in 2013. She has done the odd TV guest role prior to Covert Affairs (including House), but guest appearances are fairly rare for the actress.

Go On, Perry’s third attempt to return to television in a starring role since the end of Friends, seems to have lived up to the third time’s a charm rule and has received a full season order. The series has been doing well in the ratings and looks like a good bet to be renewed for a second season – although that’s still several months away.

There is no word on when Perabo's episodes will air, but with 2012 fast drawing to a close it will be after the midseason break. Go On airs on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
