The first full-season pick-up of the Fall has gone to Fox’s musical-dramedy Glee. Created by Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk, and Nip/Tuck’s Ryan Murphy, Glee follows the adventures of William McKinley High School’s show choir, and features the choir performing versions of pop songs both modern and classic. Think a little bit American Idol, a little bit Freaks and Geeks.

As Variety reports, Fox had already ordered 13 episodes of the show, so this order fills out the so-called “back nine,” bringing Glee to the standard 22. I still haven’t seen the show, but at least it stands out as something different. Even if it will always be “the show that stole Jane Lynch from Party Down” to me.
