Fringe Comic-Con 2012 Season 5 Trailer

Fringe was moved to Hall H for its last visit to Comic-Con and apparently it was an emotional affair. At 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, a giant line of fans filed in to witness the science-fiction series' farewell panel to discuss its fifth and final season. Anna Torv, Josh Jackson, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown, Jasika Nicole and John Noble were all in attendance as well as executive producer and now solo showrunner J. H. Wyman.

On top of the amazing Mighty Ducks moment (the crowd quacking for Charlie Conway), the panel also consisted of some Fringe related awesomeness with everyone in the audience receiving their own 'Observer-style' fedora. After making their crowd the most fashionable one at the convention, the long floating rumour that Season 5 would pick up where “Letters of Transit," the nineteenth episode of last season, left out was confirmed.

If you weren't there to see the footage (or even if you were), here's a three and a half minute preview for the firth season of Fringe set in the year 2036.

The teaser opened with a minute or so of old footage in order to set the stage for where the show is headed in its final 13 episodes. And it's going to some crazy places! The moments with Henrietta were probably the most emotional and Olivia's "she's everything I ever hoped she'd become" is certainly bitter-sweet because, on one hand they didn't get to raise her but on the other, she turned out pretty kick-ass.

My favorite moment, however, was Peter's suggestion that they create a few Fringe events of their own this season to bring the fight to the bald headed bastards. Let's see if the Observers can solve the events as fast as Peter, Olivia, Walter Astrid, Broyles and Nina. I'm sure September will show up too. Fringe returns this fall on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox with a premiere titled “Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11”. The series was created by J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
