The Democratic and Republican National Conventions are big news right now and NBC’s The Tonight Show With Jay Leno is all set to stay on top of things. The show has brought in an expert to take over as correspondent at the Conventions. Comedian Mo Rocca has been signed on to appear on Leno’s show this week while the Democratic Convention is taking place in Denver and then again when the Republican National Convention takes place from September first through the fourth in Minneapolis.

Rocca has been a correspondent for The Tonight Show in previous political events and many will probably remember him from his days on The Daily Show or the various VH1 shows he’s appeared in.

Also, if you’ve been meaning to stay up on some of the more serious coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, here’s what CNN has going on:

Monday, August 25 thru Thursday, August 28
6:00PM to Midnight – America Votes 2008: Democratic National Convention
Midnight – 1:00AM: Special Convention Edition of Larry King LIVE

Monday, September 1 thru Thursday, September 4
