ABC might thrive on their drama series but they’ve got a handful of unscripted series. In fact, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the hugely popular Dancing with the Stars was picked up for another season, as have four other unscripted series.

In addition to Dancing, which draws in huge ratings every season, ABC has also renewed Wife Swap. Wife Swap is a reality series that follows two women each episode who switch households for two weeks and take over each other’s wife/mother responsibilities. Among the other series that were renewed were Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, America’s Funniest Home Videos and Supernanny.

America’s Funniest Home Videos will go on for a 19th season. I guess people really don’t get sick of watching home videos of pets doing silly things or guys getting hit in the junk.

Meanwhile, there’s been no news about the new series, Dance Wars: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, which premiered in January and could be considered a spin-off of Dancing with the Stars, as it featured Stars judges, Bruno and Carrie Ann. The finale for that series drew in 9.4 million viewers, according to TV Guide. That might seem like a lot but it’s actually less than half of what Dancing with the Stars brings in. So I’m not sure if the singing-dancing competition stands much of a chance of getting renewed. Personally, I could care less if it does. I only made it through two episodes of the show and found myself cringing my way through both of them.
