The numbers are in and things are definitely looking good for HBO’s True Blood, which had about 5.1 million viewers tuning in to catch all of the bloody, sexy drama in the series' third season premiere.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 5.1 million viewers from Sunday night’s Season 3 premiere of True Blood is a 38% increase from the Season 2 premiere and a 19% increase from last season’s average performance. The series has seen higher numbers before in certain episodes but according to the Reporter, True Blood has a tendency to gather “ratings strength” over the course of its season. If that turns out to be true for TB this season, then the show is definitely off to a good start!

For those of you interested in knowing what’s to come, E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos posted some spoilers in her blog, including the news that (spoilers ahead!) Bill’s maker Lorena is returning and bringing plenty of drama with her (blah.). Dos Santos has also been hinting at a steamy sex scene. If that’s considered a spoiler than this one must be a big one, considering what we saw from Eric and that stripper during the season premiere.
