Last month, Peanuts fans had to wait an extra week to see Charlie Brown and his pals celebrate Christmas after President Obama’s address bumped A Charlie Brown Christmas out of its primetime slot. There wasn’t much of a fuss over the delay, however it seems Lost fans are a bit more vocal as it seems the premiere of the final season might be delayed due to the State of the Union Address.

Normally, the State of the Union address takes place in late January, however according to The Washington Post, word began to leak that it might be taking place on February 2nd this year. If that’s the case, it seems likely that ABC, which has Lost scheduled to premiere that night, will be broadcasting the event like every other major network. Fans caught wind of this and there’s already been some backlash. There’s a Facebook group called Americans Against the State of the Union on the Same not as Lost and on the Twitter front, people have been tweeting the tag #NoStateofUnionFeb2.

It’s entirely possible that the February 2nd date was just a tentative day for the State of the Union, however as die-hard Lost fans are itching for the start of the new season, it’s no surprise that people are already getting vocal about the potential-issue.
