What’s more controversial than two penguins getting married? Two male penguins getting married. That’s the dilemma Leslie Knope gets herself involved in when NBC’s Parks & Recreation premieres its second season this week.

Brought to you by The Office’s Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, Parks & Recreation is a mockumentary that follows Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) as she attempts to advance in her career in the Parks and Recreation department of Pawnee, Indiana.

“LESLIE’S PENGUIN MARRIAGE AT THE LOCAL ZOO CAUSES A STIR IN PAWNEE—When Leslie (Amy Poehler) decides to marry two penguins to promote the local zoo, she inadvertently causes an uproar when both penguins turn out to be male. Meanwhile, Mark (Paul Schneider) puts Ann (Rashida Jones) in an awkward situation when he asks her to go see a movie. Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt also star.”

Parks & Recreation premieres Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
