With Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim and Moonlight’s Alex O’Loughlin set to star in the upcoming remake of Hawaii Five-O, added to Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci’s involvement in the series, you’d think the show had enough geek-bait to secure a solid fan base but apparently not. The most recent addition to the cast will surely appeal to Battlestar Galactica fans as Five-O has secured itself an Eight.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news that Grace Park is set to take on the role of Kona Kalakaua, the niece of Daniel Dae Kim’s character. She’s a surfer who’s just about to finish up at the police academy and gets recruited by Steve McGarret (played by Alex O’Loughlin).

Grace Park made a name for herself on Battlestar Galactica, playing the roles of Boomer, Athena and various other Eights on the series. After BSG, she had a role on A&E’s The Cleaner. It’ll be interesting to see what she does with this new cop role.
