Synopsis

Director Sam Raimi has kept things tightly under wraps, so very is little known about the plot so far. It's likely that the villains will be Venom and Sandman, with Topher Grace playing Venom as sort of a Yin to Spider-Man's Yang.

It’s Spider-Man. No brainer. While he was away Captain Jack Sparrow broke his box office records, Batman drove around in his car, Superman flew with Lois Lane, and the X-Men crashed and burned in a big way. But Spider-Man is still the king. If Spider-Man 3 is as good as the first two films (and there’s every reason to think it will be), Spidey will become the first superhero franchise to maintain the same level of quality for more than two movies. It’s already the first to hold on to its original director past a second film. That should make all the difference. Let’s hope Raimi sticks around for Spider-Man 4.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy Getting A Blu-ray Upgrade In June

The Blu-rays that exist for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy are pretty terrible. The two good films in the series only have one disc each (Spider-Man 3 has two disks) and the extras that are there aren't very special. It's a strange thing, considering how much money the series brought to Sony, but it looks like they are finally doing good to them. And just in time for the release of The Amazing Spider-Man....

Sam Raimi Didn't Like All The Spider-Man 3 Villains Either

This is pretty much the best possible news to hear, and the first reason I've been given to look forward to Spider-Man 4 at all. Having rewatched Drag Me to Hell recently and loving it, it's tremendously exciting to think about how Raimi might bring all those skills over into something bigger...
