It's been a long bumpy road for heavy metal action-adventure Brutal Legend but the end is in sight. Publisher EA announced today that the game will be released on October 13th in North America and October 16th in Europe.

""Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome!" said Tim Schafer, Double Fine Productions president. "And how cool is it that EA threw down the dough to have the name of an entire month changed to Rocktober?"

The game will be released simultaneously for the Xbox 360 and PS3. There's been no official confirmation of the rumored Wii version yet so even if it is real, it's not going to arrive by October.
