Hobbit DLC Released For Guardians Of Middle-Earth
Monolith Productions has updated their action strategy game Guardians Of Middle-Earth with downloadable content inspired by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The new DLC allows you to play as Bilbo Baggins or Bert the Troll.
Bert wades into battle with an barrel slung over his shoulder. He can hurl it and cause damage to multiple enemies at once. Alternately, he can use it as a sort of flamethrower. What the heck is in that barrel, anyway?
Bilbo doesn't have the brawn of Bert. He needs to use his magic ring to slip around unnoticed. He can then perform quick strikes on enemies and hopefully escape before they find him.
Guardians of Middle-Earth is a multiplayer online battle arena game in the vein of League of Legends or Dota 2. Players take on the role of famous heroes and villains from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, including Gandalf, Gollum, Sauron and others. Each team works to destroy their enemy's base while defending their own.
You can download Guardians on PSN or Xbox Live Arcade for $15. A Season Pass, also priced at $15, will give you access to 8 playable characters as well as a new game mode. You could also purchase new content individually. Bert and Bilbo cost 160 MS Points, or $2, apiece.
Regardless of whether you buy the new characters, you can look forward to some free Hobbit DLC today. The latest update for the game has added a map based on The Shire.
