I never really noticed it before, but there are going to be a lot of dwarves seen in movie theaters in 2012. First there's Mirror Mirror, which promises us the standard seven dwarfs that come with the Snow White tale. Next, we have Snow White and the Huntsman, which actually goes beyond the story that we all know and has eight dwarves in play. Finally there are the dwarves of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, who will help Bilbo Baggins on his great adventure. Earlier today we got our first look at the mystical men of the second Snow White story with Chris Hemswoth, and now, courtesy of Yahoo!, we have a new look at those in The Hobbit.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is Peter Jackson's return to Middle Earth after nearly a decade. The story follows Bilbo (Martin Freeman) as he is tasked by Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellan) to travel to the Lonely Mountain and retrieve a treasure that was stolen by a giant dragon called Smaug. The film also stars Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans, Christopher Lee, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage, Ian Holm, Lee Pace, and Bret McKenzie.
