So You Think You Can Dance Lands Lady Gaga And The Edge Of Glory Premiere
So You Think You Can Dance is one of the few reality shows that I can actually watch. There's something interesting about watching these talented kids be mentored, struggle out of their comforts zones, and shine within them.
One of the drawbacks for me has always been the judges... namely, Mary Murphy. Thankfully, they seem to be lining up a bunch of guest judges that might limit the number of times I have to hear that woman scream. Xfinity attended the SYTYCD Hollywood billboard reveal this morning where judge and exec producer Nigel Lythgoe dropped a few big names that will appear throughout the season. The biggest? It seems that Lady Gaga will stop by later this season to sit on the panel.
Lythgoe said that he "asked her when she performed on the American Idol finale if she would come on and she said yes [...] She is on tour so they said it would probably be later in the season. She is an amazing dancer and performer." She's certainly an interesting dancer and performer anyway. Other guest judges either lined up or in talks include Megan Mullally (this week), Kristen Chenowith (love you), and Neil Patrick Harris (love you, too), as well as a possible return for Ellen.
Oh, and in a final bit of Gaga/SYTYCD news, the first look at her The Edge of Glory video will happen on tomorrow's broadcast. The star tweeted this morning that the clip, from director Joseph Kahn, would premiere on the reality dance results show, giving you another reason to tune in tomorrow night.
