Superman: Doomsday DVD Trailer

Comic books rarely get mainstream attention. For the most part they are written off as geek culture, not worthy of most press. In fact, it takes massive events to be noticed by the non-comic fan – like the recent death of Captain America or Batgirl becoming a lesbian. The first big comic event on par with those that I can remember was the Death of Superman storyline, and it was a doozy. Heck, I’m not even a big Supes fan and I still have a copy of the issue, sealed in the collectable bag it was released in.

Now Warner Animation is adapting the Death of Superman storyline for their next animated Superman movie - Superman: Doomsday. This isn’t just an extension of the Animated adventures of Superman, however. Warner has assembled quite the vocal cast for the film, including Adam Baldwin (“Firefly”) as Clark/Superman, Anne Heche (“Men in Trees”) as Lois, and James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) as Lex Luthor.

Does the idea of Superman’s death in animated form intrigue you? IMDb has a trailer for the DVD movie that comes out later this year. Click here to check out that trailer (but be warned, you’ll have to deal with some advertising junk first).

The trailer’s raspy announcer promotes over 70 minutes of special features and a September street date, but at this time that’s all we really know. We’ll put up more details as we get them.
