This week marks the release of a movie about children living in a vicious future society in which they're forced to fight each other in a battle to the death. No, I don't mean The Hunger Games. I'm talking about Battle Royale, the 2000 Japanese classic that for years was almost impossible to hunt down in the United States thanks to its violent subject matter. The movie is finally set for a Blu-Ray release this week, but this will be a lot more than your standard transfer. Hitting shelves this Tuesday, Battle Royale: The Complete Collection comes with both the first Battle Royale film and the sequel, the director's and theatrical cut of the first film, and tons of bonus content, including a making-of documentary.
