NetherRealm Studios has confirmed a new superhero and supervillain for Injustice: Gods Among Us. When the game goes live later this year, players will be able to take on the role of Hawkgirl and Sinestro.
Sinestro is the archnemesis of the Green Lantern. He's a former member of the Green Lantern Corps and as such has similar powers. He wears a ring that enables him to fly and construct objects out of energy. The latter ability will give developers a lot of leeway in designing his abilities.
Hawkgirl's powers are also due to a magic accessory: a belt of Nth metal. This belt gives her superhuman strength in addition to flight and enhanced vision. She's superb at hand-to-hand combat but also wields medieval weapons like maces or spears.
Injustice brings a diverse cast of superheroes and supervillains together and makes them duke it out in one-on-one fights. Surprisingly, the storyline for this slugfest isn't terrible.
