New Adventures Of Tintin Trailer Arrives Online
Director Robert Zemeckis has spent the last decade trying to find the potential in 100% performance-capture film. From The Polar Express to Beowulf to A Christmas Carol, Zemeckis has always run into one big obstacle: the uncanny valley. As hard as he tried, the human characters in his movies suffered from being dead behind the eyes and were hard to watch as a result. Zemeckis' studio at Disney has since been shut down and will begin production on his first live-action film in a decade this month. Now the new trailer for The Adventures of Tintin has arrived and from the look of it, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have taken everything that Zemeckis has done with performance capture and absolutely improved it.
Check out the trailer below or in HD over on Apple. This is easily my favorite trailer thus far. It does an excellent job of both showcasing the movie's incredible visuals (and they truly are stunning) while also doing a great job establishing the characters and the plot. I'm still curious if this movie will be able to grab domestic audiences (the comics on which the film is based are much more popular overseas) but if the movie can maintain the energy of this trailer for its entire runtime I don't think it will be a problem. The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will be released on December 21st. To learn more about the film be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database. |
