Bachelor Contestant Gia Allemand Dead From Apparent Suicide At 29
Model and reality star Gia Allemand passed away this morning after her family members made the difficult decision to take her off life support. She was just twenty-nine-years-old and had so much left to give, both to those who loved her and all of the causes she spent so many hours supporting.
Details on what exactly happened are still fuzzy, but the majority of outlets seem to agree on the basic outline of events. On Monday, Allemandís NBA star boyfriend Ryan Anderson returned to his home in New Orleans and found her following a suicide attempt. He quickly called paramedics, and she was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. She remained in that condition for several days, but without any improvement and a loss of several vital organs, the family decided to let her go.

"Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other lifelong friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites. Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets. On behalf of the family, we sincerely ask for privacy at this time."
Allemand first came to the publicís attention when she finished third on ABCís hit The Bachelor during Jake Pavelkaís season. She was a big hit with both her fans and her fellow contestants and later transitioned from the show into modeling and a long-term relationship with Anderson. TMZ is claiming that relationship became very rocky in recent months, but without anyone speaking on the record or even any specific stories leaking out, itís impossible to know where the truth lies. He clearly loved her and remained by her side until she passed this morning.
Regardless of what the specifics of her death might be, Gia left this world far too soon. She had so many more smiles to give and so many more pets left to rescue. Unfortunately, life didnít wind up working out that way; so, all we fans can do is remember her best moments on The Bachelor and all family members can do is remember the times they felt especially close to her.
Pop Blendís sincerest thoughts go out to the entire Allemand family, as well as to Anderson and all those who knew her. She will be lovingly missed for decades and decades to come by far more people than she ever would have realized.
