With so many myths and urban legends floating around, it’s not a wonder that this series, which takes a look at different myths to see how valid or invalid they are, is entering its seventh season. In previous episodes, the MythBusters team has looked at myths like whether or not a tire explosion has a deadly force, diet coke and mentos myths, and whether yodeling can really set off an avalanche. When the new season resumes, the team will see if it’s really possible for steak to be tenderized with explosives.


I’ve never watched MythBusters but after taking a look at the previous episode descriptions, I’m thinking this series probably ranges from really interesting and educational to totally pointless depending on what’s being explored in each episode. Either way, if anything, this show does look like it could help people brush up on their small-talk skills. I mean, if you knew whether or not explosives were a good way to tenderize meat, you’d have a great topic to bring up at your next dinner party, right?
