Georgia Rules DVD In September

I’ve always had Garry Marshall build up in my head as one of the great storytellers. Maybe it’s because of his early days in televsion because, other than a stint in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s, his work hasn’t been very “great” at all. At best the Princess Diaries movies were entertaining fluff, something Georgia Rule should hope to be called.

Instead, I’m afraid Georgial Rule will best be remembered as one film in a line of disasters for both Lindsay Lohan and Jane Fonda. Lohan hasn’t had a win in a while and Fonda is rapidly proving she should have remained retired. Still, for those who found the film entertaining or wanted to give it a chance but didn’t want to give the box office their dollars, the movie is headed for DVD on September 4th.

If his films aren’t always great, Marshall does at least manage some entertaining DVD bonus features. His commentaries alone are typically a treat, sort of an extended story being told by that gleeful grandfather. Take a look at what you can expect on Georgia Rule:

  • Deleted Scenes with Director Commentary and Gag Reel: Over 17 minutes of never-before-seen hilarious bloopers and deleted scenes.
  • The Making of Georgia Rule: An intimate look behind the scenes at the making of Georgia Rule.
  • The Women of Georgia Rule: Featuring on-screen legend Jane Fonda, along with Felicity Huffman and Lindsay Lohan, this feature takes an in-depth look at the complex, heartwarming and often funny relationship between the characters Georgia, Lilly and Rachel.
  • On the Set with Garry Marshall: The cast and crew of Georgia Rule discuss why Garry Marshall has become one of the most successful and loved filmmakers in Hollywood.
  • Feature Commentary with director Garry Marshall
