The Tick Faces Season Two

Spoooooon!

Thus comes the battle cry that sends terror into the heart of criminals and brings the big blue purveyor of justice. Buena Vista Home Entertainment is bringing Season Two of the animated “Tick” series to DVD on August 7th.

I have to admit from the start I’m a little disappointed with BV’s handling of “The Tick” so far. “The Tick vs. Season One” was missing an episode from the first season, intentionally left out in the interests of “creative considerations.” Now comes “The Tick vs. Season Two” and… the same thing is going on.

That’s right – the already short second season of “The Tick” is being cut down an episode for the DVD release. This time the casualty is “Alone Together,” an episode that followed up Chairface’s attempt to write his name on the moon from season one by sending The Tick into outer space. There’s been no official word as to why this episode has been pulled from the release, but only twelve episodes are listed on the press release with a specific comment that “Episode 15 will not be included on this release.”

Let’s not focus entirely on the negative, however. Here’s a listing of what episodes will be on this August 7th release:

  • The Little Wooden Boy and the Belly of Love
  • Armless but Not Harmless
  • Leonardo Da Vinci and His Fightin' Genius Time Commandos
  • Coach Fussel's Lament
  • Bloomsday
  • Evil Sits Down for a Moment
  • Heroes
  • Ants in Pants!
  • The Tick Loves Santa!
  • The Tick Vs. the Big Nothing,
  • The Tick Vs. Reno, Nevada
  • Grandpa Wore Tights
