Waitress Serves Up A DVD
There have been a ton of good movies already this year – enough that it’s pretty easy for critics to disagree about which movie was best. One movie I seem to disagree with just about everyone on, however, is Waitress. I just don’t see what all the fuss and critical acclaim is about. I guess I’ll have a second chance to see the movie and try and see why it appeals to so many when it comes out on DVD on November 27th.
Waitress stars Keri Russell as a small-town waitress who excels at making pies. Just about every other aspect of her life is rotten, however, from her deadbeat husband (Jeremy Sisto), to her secret pregnancy, to her newfound attraction to her OB-GYN (Nathan Fillion).
The movie was filmmaker Adrienne Shelly’s last picture – in fact she was killed while the movie was underway, so you’re not going to get a director’s commentary, but Fox is still loading this DVD up like one of Jenna’s pies.
