I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but White Noise was one of those rare movies I watched at home that wigged me out enough to make me turn some lights on in my home theater… you know, just in case. While the movie’s execution kind of fell apart towards the end, the atmosphere of the film was quite sublime, and was something I really got into.
The thriller flick was enough of a modest success to allow for a sequel – a sequel of the direct-to-video kind. Although I’m usually quick to poo-poo on those kinds of movies, I’m not giving up hope for White Noise 2, at least not yet. With a cast that includes Firefly’s Nathan Fillion and Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff, I have to believe the picture has potential, at least from the acting side.
The DVD release for White Noise 2 is only a few days away – Tuesday, January 8th, and Universal has sent over the trailer for the movie. Sure, the premise is a little different, delving into Near Death Experiences instead of just seeing spirits through white noise, but I still have some hope that this will wind up a decent little thriller.
