First Trailer For Roland Emmerich's Shakespeare Drama Anonymous Brings In Radiohead

With the trailer it released today for Anonymous, Sony has successfully come up with the strangest combination of movie elements I've ever imagined: Radiohead, Roland Emmerich, and Shakespeare. Perhaps still riding high off the success of their a cappella "Creep" scored Social Network trailer, they have decided to present early scenes from the Elizabethan drama to the tune of "Everything In Its Right Place." Actually we start in modern-day New York with a man on a stage hinting that Shakespeare might not have written all of his plays, then cut to the snowy past, the title "A Roland Emmerich film" and the unmistakable electronic sound of Radiohead. It's enough contrast to give you whiplash, and that's before the cannon fire starts.

Check out the teaser below and scratch your head with me; Anonymous stars Rhys Ifans and Vanessa Redgrave, opens September 30, and could easily turn out to be the most inexplicable movie of the year. I kind of can't wait.
