Humpty Dumpty Returns

After renouncing American History X for straying from his original vision, director Tony Kaye sued New Line Cinema for hundreds of millions of dollars. He spoke out against Ed Norton, saying he changed the movie to extend his role, and he wanted to be named "Humpty Dumpty" in the final credits to detach from the project. His request for a nursery rhyme alias and hordes of money were denied, and he has stayed away from moviemaking pretty much since then.

Until now. According to Variety Kaye will direct the upcoming indie thriller Paranoia, with Jon Land (Dirty Deeds) writing the screenplay. The story is about a top advertising agency executive who comes to work on friday, only to discover that it's actually sunday and oops, she may have killed someone over the weekend.

Paranoia claims to have a shocking Sixth Sense-esque twist, which frankly drops my interest by a few floors. Haven't we had our fill yet of lame "GOTCHA!" endings? Apparentely not, since these things are flying at us faster than the speed of sound.

Kaye has recently signed on to helm Reaper next, for Canada's Media 8 Entertainment and Circle of Confusion. Look for Kaye to be credited as Little Boy Blue.
