Queen Latifah is set to star in a modern Cinderella tale, though if she’s starring maybe we’re stretching the definition of “Cinderella tale” a bit too far? I’m fairly certain Cinderella doesn’t have much in common with a single, middle-aged, physical therapist, which is what Latifah will play in Just Wright.
Fox Searchlight has Latifah’s character falling in love with a basketball player while helping him recover from a career-threatening injury. So I guess instead of a slipper she’s going to drop a colostomy bag or something. Sounds pretty romantic.
This will be Queen’s second venture into the world of rom-com. Her first was Last Holiday, a movie which for credibility’s sake I’m probably supposed to hate, if only for the scene pictured in the image I posted with this story. For some weird reason I can’t bring myself to loathe it. I’m a big softie.
