Tim Robbins Joins Sex Addict Comedy Thanks For Sharing

After years away from the silver screen, Tim Robbins is finally making his comeback. Last seen in 2008's City of Ember, Robbins is kicking off his tour when he plays Senator Hammond (father of this guy) in Green Lantern, but that's not all. The actor has also signed on to the high-profile Dean Koontz adaptation Odd Thomas, and now has decided that he also wants to make us laugh again.

Robbins has been added to the cast of Thanks For Sharing, the directorial debut from The Kids Are All Right screenwriter Stuart Blumberg (who also wrote the script for this project), according to THR. Reported out of the Cannes Film Festival, the movie is a comedy about three sex addicts taking a 12-step course in New York. There's no information about the character that Robbins will be playingAs reported back in January, Mark Ruffalo is also involved. Production is scheduled to begin this fall.

I will admit to missing Tim Robbins on screen. Some of his more recent script decisions haven't been stellar, but the guy is one of the few actors that can perform in any genre and never seem out of place. Simply put: Welcome back, Tim.
