Wild Things Going Into Reshoots, Jonze Staying Put

For those of us who have been anxiously anticipating Spike Jonze's adaptation of Where The Wild things Are, there's been some bad news lately. Rumors have been flying of reshoots and even replacing Jonze as director, and a leaked video from the set seemed awkward and not at all plausible as a movie.

Now Collider.com has a scoop that clears things up, and it's not as bad as it seems. Wild Things will be going into reshoots, but Jonze isn't going anywhere. The reshoots will revolve around the film's extensive animation and fix a few script problems-- you know, the usual.

Personally I'm breathing a big sigh of relief. Jonze is a strange but probably perfect choice to take on this unusual children's story, and I'm dying to see what he's done with it, good or bad. The movie had been set for release this year, but Collider speculates that the reshoots mean it will probably be pushed back. Until I hear rumors that sounds a little worse, I'm willing to chalk that up to the price of genius and wait patiently for the wild things.
