We've seen the trailers for World War Z. In fact, I can't remember the last movie I saw in the theaters that didn't show the zombie thriller's promo beforehand. Now we have a look at an actual clip from the film. It doesn't give much away, though it does fill us in a bit on Brad Pitt's character. Not only was he once a top investigator for the U.N., but he's also a family man, who's reluctant to separate from his wife and kids in this time of crisis.
Directed by Marc Forster, and based on - or at the very least, inspired by - Max Brooks' book, World War Z follows Brad Pitt's character Gerry Lane as he tries to stop the zombie pandemic that's making its way across the planet, threatening to wipe out humanity. The clip above, which comes to us via Yahoo, is set aboard the U.N. command ship U.S.S. ARGUS. It looks like the higher-ups have decided that Gerry's a necessary person in their attempts to figure out what's going on and put a stop to it. But as the trailers have revealed, Gerry has a family. Now he's forced to decide if he can be a better protector to them by staying with them, or parting ways with them to work with the U.N. to put a stop to the madness before it's too late for everyone.
By comparison to the thrilling moments we've glimpsed in the trailers, this isn't the most exciting snippet from the film, but it does tease some of the personal conflict in the story from Pitt's character's perspective.
World War Z arrives in theaters June 21, 2013.
