Good News For Hot In Cleveland

We have a double-dose of good news for Betty White fans! The first bit is that TV Land announced today that they’ve given their new original scripted sitcom Hot in Cleveland a pick-up for a second season.

Hot in Cleveland stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Bettie White. The series follows three older women from Los Angeles who have an unplanned layover in Cleveland and discover that their stock is much higher there than it was back in California. Betty White plays the caretaker of the house they rent when they decide to stay and see if they can find love and a future in Ohio.

According to the information TV Land released today, they’ve given the go-ahead to start production a second season, which will consist of twenty episodes. Production for Season 2 is set to start in October with the premiere aimed for January 2011.

“We are so excited that ‘Hot in Cleveland’ was embraced by viewers in such a big way,” said Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. “We absolutely love the show and can’t wait to see what hilarious new experiences these characters will encounter in the next 20 episodes.”

Hot in Cleveland airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on TV Land.

The second bit of news is more related to Betty White. We received word today that the former Golden Girl is getting her own calendar. From the looks of it, it’s going to appeal to anyone who loves Betty White and/or sexy, oiled-up, shirtless men (preview image below!). The calendar is set up for 2011 and should be on shelves at places where they sell calendars by September.
