Moonlight Premieres This Friday Night

You might have better things to do on a Friday night than curl up on the couch with the remote in hand, watching a new show on CBS. In case you don’t, we thought we’d remind you that CBS will be premiering their new series, Moonlight this Friday night. That’s the one about the guy who's a vampire-slash-private detective.

In case you missed our Fall TV Preview for this new show, Moonlight centers on a vampire named Mick St. John (Alex O’Louglin) who works as a private detective. Unlike other vampires, Mick doesn’t feed off humans. Instead, he uses his supernatural abilities to protect the living. Mick helps the helpless and constantly has to struggle to keep his vampire-nature at bay. And of course, there’s a girl involved. In the pilot episode, he’ll reconnect with Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), a woman he saved years ago.

Here’s the thing. We know the story’s been done before with shows like Angel and Forever Knight but that’s no reason it can’t be done again. Personally, I loved Angel so I’m not totally opposed to giving this show a chance. The other reason I’m looking forward to checking out Moonlight is because Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars) is a series regular. His character, Josef Konstantin, is described as an “eternally young, wealthy and mischievous” guy. Sounds just like Logan (if Logan were eternally young but seeing as Veronica Mars was cancelled, technically, he is now).

Below is a promo for the show. The video features an interview with Mick St. John. I’ll be honest; the whole thing comes off somewhat cheesy. I’m hoping that the character isn’t as super-suave as he is in this faux-interview.

Moonlight premieres Friday, September 28, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. on CBS
