Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Trent Reznor, David Goyer Dev Diary
If you haven't heard, Activision and Treyarch have secured the services of Hollywood talent David S. Goyer and music talent Trent Reznor for the upcoming blockbuster shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Both men give a slight rundown of why they jumped onboard for the $1 billion dollar franchise.
There are actually two videos. The first video is the one featuring Reznor and Goyer, doing the standard PR duties to promote the game. The second video talks a little bit more about the technology and the setting of Black Ops 2 and how Treyarch wanted to avoid laser weapons and plastic guns despite the game being set in the future. While the Call of Duty games always get hammered for recycling the same thing over and over again, most people must admit that the storytelling is slick and the scripted scenarios are pretty cool. The game is most famous for its multiplayer modes but I think it's also safe to say that the blockbuster attachment of a Hollywood-esque single-player helps for marketing purposes.
I'm sure a lot of gamers are also curious about the soundtrack for Black Ops 2, especially with Reznor helming the composer's chair. I imagine it's going to be dark, gritty, and heavily influenced by industrial grunge.
You can look for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to land on store shelves this November for home consoles and PC. You can pre-order the game right now or learn more by paying a visit to the Official Website.
