Dragon Age: Inquisition will officially launch on November 18th. However, there's a way to start playing the medieval RPG several days before that.

EA Access members can play a free trial of Inquisition on Xbox One as early as November 13th. It's time-limited, though.

"The six-hour trial lets you create your hero, form your Inquisition, and take your first steps into Thedas, exploring the world and battling evil in both real-time and tactical combat," EA explained on the Access website. "Discover the Hinterlands, where the war between Templars and mages has hit a fever pitch, or gather materials and schematics for crafting your arsenal. You can even jump into Inquisition’s cooperative multiplayer missions. The choice is yours."

Players' progress in the free trial can then be imported into the full version once it launches. EA Access members will also get a 10% discount on buying the game. However, the discount only applies to digital purchases through the Xbox One Game Store.

EA Access is a premium subscription available exclusively on Xbox One. Members pay $4.99 per month for early trials of new EA-published games. Past free trials have allowed EA Access members to play Madden NFL 15 and FIFA 15 before everyone else. EA Access also includes unlimited play of "The Vault," a small selection of games from the company that will grow over time. These are the current games in the Vault:
  • Battlefield 4
  • Madden NFL 25
  • FIFA 14
  • Peggle 2
  • Need for Speed Rivals
  • Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
EA had offered this promotion to Sony as well for the PS4. However, Sony declined it because they felt it wasn't a good value.

“PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price," Sony said in July. "We don’t think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer.”

Though EA Access is limited to only one console, EA's still happy with its performance. They haven't announced concrete membership numbers but say it's performing above their estimates.

"EA Access is surpassing all of our internal expectations with regard to subscriber numbers and it's delivering exactly what we thought which would be a great way for gamers to get great value and experience more games," COO Peter Moore said during the call.

In addition to Xbox One, Dragon Age: Inquisition will be released on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Before you play the game, be sure to use the free app Dragon Age Keep to import your choices from Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.
