Captain America: The Winter Soldier Launches Its Big Super Bowl Trailer

With each new film from Marvel Studios we get sucked further and further into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we here at Cinema Blend are always giddy and excited for what awaits. Phase Two is already off to a booming start thanks to both Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 and Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World, and things will soon get a bit more patriotic with the release of Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Following up on its big tease on Friday, we have gotten a brand new, action-packed look at the new Captain America sequel. If you’re still jonesing for more you can watch the previously released theatrical spot below:

The buzz surrounding Captain America: The Winter Soldier could not be higher than it is right now. While the first movie about the stars and stripes superhero was both a critical and box office hit, word-of-mouth out of test screenings have said that the follow-up may be one of the studio’s best yet. Things are looking so good, in fact, that Marvel has apparently already been having conversations about bringing the Russos back for Captain America 3.

In The Winter Soldier, which is based on a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, we find Cap (Chris Evans) continuing to adjust to the modern world following being frozen alive and fighting in the Battle of New York. He has begun working as a field agent for S.H.I.E.L.D., teaming alongside Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and does what he believes is right in the battle against evil. After making some shocking discoveries, however, he begins to wonder if he is actually fighting for the right side. Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford and Samuel L. Jackson co-star in the film, which will be in theaters on April 4th.
