The Heat Mondo Poster

If you want to cover the walls of your apartment or house in only top-of-the-line pop culture art, chances are that you're going to have to pay a good deal of money for it. Mondo, the Austin, Texas-based art company responsible for some of the best artist-designed movie posters around, is certainly one of the more popular destinations for film fans, but typically only for those willing to pay upwards of $50 to $100 per print. The good news, however, is that if you want the brand new design for Paul Feig's The Heat, as seen above, you won't have to pay a red cent over the cost of a movie ticket. Though there may be some traveling involved.

Mondo has revealed that fans who buy tickets to a 10:00pm screening of the new buddy cop comedy this Friday at participating Alamo Drafthouse locations will have a chance to pick up their very own free copy of the new Mondo poster for The Heat, available first come first serve. Illustrated by Tom 'The Dude Designs' Hodge, the one-sheet is 24 inches by 26 inches and contains a hidden cameo from the director. To see the design full size, be sure to click on the image that you see above.

While cities like New York and Los Angeles usually benefit the most from events like this, that is not the case here. In fact, this also happens to be a rare occurrence where if you live in a major city that borders an ocean you are shit out of luck. The poster will be available in seven Alamo Drafthouse markets around the country, none of which are in either New York or California. You can see the full list of locations below, as well as links to websites where you can find out more information.

Scripted by Kate Dippold, who is best known for her work on MADtv and Parks and Recreation, The Heat centers on FBI Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) and Boston cop Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy). While the two women couldn't possibly be any more different, from the way they live their lives to the way in which they go about doing their jobs, they are forced to team up when they go face-to-face with a powerful drug lord. Demian Bichir, Marlon Wayans, Michael Rappaport, Jane Curtin, Michael McDonald and Taran Killam co-star in the movie, which will be in theaters this weekend, June 28th, courtesy of 20th Century Fox.
