MOVIE NEWS
Inglourious Basterds Leading Online Ticket Sales... Kinda![]()
Here's the good news: Inglourious Basterds is currently selling the most tickets of any other film on MovieTickets.com. Here's the bad news: it only makes up 19% of ticket sales. Compare that to District 9, which in its second week of release is accounting for 11% of sales. And, weirdly enough, G-Force is also selling 11%. Who knew the guinea pigs were as popular as South African aliens?
What does this mean for Quentin Tarantino's movie that's intended to save The Weinstein Company? Probably nothing good. No one is expecting it to make regular summer blockbuster numbers, or even District 9-size numbers, but this might indicate even less interest than you'd expect for a movie in which Brad Pitt kills Nazis. Of course, that's not what the movie is really about at all, if you've read our review. Maybe the word is getting out, and ticket sales are dropping accordingly. |
