MacFarlane Plots Out Live Action Family Guy Movie![]()
With The Simpsons Movie playing such a big part of this summer’s box office, it’s not surprising to hear other animated franchises targeting the big screen for their next big endeavor. Even Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy and American Dad has theatrical ambitions, although he admits it may not be any time soon.
MacFarlane talked with MTV Movies Blog about the possibility of a Family Guy movie, and told the blog, ”At some point, I hope [to make a “Family Guy” movie]. The trick is to find a way to do it and do the series at the same time. That’s almost impossible and I think that’s why it took ‘The Simpsons’ twenty years. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later.” Sadly, I think MacFarlane hit the nail right on the head: if you have a successful animated series, you can’t give up on the series just to make a one-shot movie. Still, that doesn’t mean you can’t dream, and that’s exactly what MacFarlane is doing. Given his druthers, here’s the Family Guy creator’s “dream cast” for a theatrical project – a live-action theatrical project: Juliette Lewis - Meg David Hyde Pierce - Stewie Ann Coulter - Brian Rosie O’Donnell - Peter Phillip Seymour Hoffman - Chris Kathy Griffin - Lois I think it’s terrifying that MacFarlane would think such things, and even more terrifying that it’s a pretty dead one cast if the movie were to be a live action picture. But what about some of the more important supporting characters? Obviously Adam West would have to play Mayor Adam West, and I can’t imagine anyone but Patrick Warburton voicing Joe, so he’d have to play a live-action version of the character as well. Any suggestions for Quagmire, Cleveland, or the dirty Old Man? Post them below. |
