Michelle Williams Gets Ready To Cast A Spell In New Oz The Great And Powerful Poster
It's unlikely that Sam Raimi's upcoming Oz The Great and Powerful will feature characters like Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman or the Cowardly Lion, but that doesn't mean that the film will be short on things you recognize. The main character, Oscar (James Franco), presumably goes on to become the titular figure in The Wizard of Oz, while the new movie's trailers have given us a glimpse at both flying monkeys and the Wicked Witch of the West. But if you're going to have the wicked witch you need the good witch to balance her out - and that's where Michelle Williams comes in.
Disney has been unveiling a string of character posters for Oz The Great and Powerful and today delivers a brand new one. All the way back in December the campaign was kicked off with artwork featuring the aforementioned Wicked one, while yesterday revealed Rachel Weisz's Evanora, and late last night we found Franco as Oscar. Today the movie's official Facebook page has unveiled one for Glinda, who is described as "Benevolent, compassionate, and above all -- good." Check it out below and click the image to see it in its highest resolution.
In Oz The Great and Powerful, Oscar Diggs is a small-time magician and swindler who magically arrives in the land of Oz when he is chased out of town and his balloon is swept into a tornado. He uses his skills as a performer to convince the people in his new land that he's actually a great wizard and finds himself living the highlife - that is until the three witch sisters, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora and Glinda, find out about him and cast doubt on his story.
