Game of Thrones Fire and Ice: A Foreshadowing Season 4 Preview Gets A Preview
HBO's True Detective is making the wait for Game of Thrones much easier but that doesn't mean each new look at the fantasy's fourth season isn't more than welcome, even if it's simply a promo for the behind the scenes special. That's right. It's not a new trailer for the series — it's not even a new vine, although there is also one of those included below — it's a preview for the network's fourth season preview called Game of Thrones: Fire and Ice: A Foreshadowing.
The promo probably isn't worth betraying your house over but there were a few new looks at the upcoming season, as well as some intriguing comments from the cast. More importantly, the preview for the preview serves as a perfect sample for the upcoming 15-minute special that promises behind-the-scenes footage, a few new clips from Season 4, interviews with the huge ensemble and the As to some fan Qs sent to the network. HBO is airing Fire and Ice: A Foreshadowing on February 9 at 8:45 p.m. ET just before the fourth episode of True Detective.
I'm pretty sure they did this kind of thing for seasons' past, since the fantasy series has so many characters and storylines to recap for audiences before they can devastate us all again this year. Game of Thrones' production looks as epic as ever so going behind the scenes as prep seems like 15 minutes well spent. In fact, spend another two on the trailer. Actually, I'm not sure 15 minutes is enough to adequately cover both the behind the scenes side of the — six hundred script pages. nineteen weeks, four countries, three writers and two simultaneous shoots — as well as catch everyone up on all the disparate stories and the many, many characters. You may have to watch it twice. Or, you know, rewatch the first three seasons in full.
Game of Thrones: Fire and Ice: A Foreshadowing airs Sunday, February 9 at 8:45 p.m. (and I imagine it will also end up online shorty after). Game of Thrones returns for its fourth season on Sunday, April 6 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Based on the novels by George R.R. Martin, the series was adapted by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and stars Peter Dinklage, Kit Harrington, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Oh yeah, here's a vine of Maisie Williams' Arya Stark doing a little mountain top needle work...
